Industrially-focused research in an exciting area

What attracted you to offshore renewables industry?/ What aspects of the industry do you find most inspiring, interesting or important for the future?

It is an exciting area with new emerging technology. Large engineering and economic challenges to overcome means innovation is required.  

Main responsibilities and challenges as a Research Engineer

To come up with new robust methods of characterising wave resource, characterising the new FloWave TT facility, and combining the two to create accurate, representative, site-specific sea conditions in the tank.

What ambition would you like to fulfil as a Research Engineer?

To create accepted and robust new methodologies

Experience with IDCORE so far

The first year was challenging and rewarding, and the style of learning aids understanding and develops practical skills in the topic areas. So far the industrial research has been very interesting.
